I was born and bred for discontent,

But that wasn't fed by loneliness,

My passion was built by godly men,

In a city that struggles for breath,

You can't separate, what I am, from the place I'm from, but I'm not talking about location,

It’s the people here, that made me rethink my faith, and determine to change this world,

Some people tear down the place that I'm from,

But they forget I don't believe in borders,

I'm from more than a set of boundary lines,

I'm from family, from friends, product of prayers said,

I'm the product of this almost ghost town,

Alive with the songs of resistance,

So while you stand and talk I'll gather my friends,

And move mountains while you debate movements,

So say what you want about my hometown,

But I wouldn't trade anything for it,

It's made me the man that I am today,

It's a part of me take it or leave it,

We are not meant to live alone,

To bind our own broken hearts and broken homes,

Instead I've chosen a different way,

To be content with where I've been placed,

I've given up believing that geography can hold me,

I have a new master of my destiny,

I'll grow the most through community,

I'll submit myself to the mystery of family,
